Canadian director and producer Gary Teperman started his filmmaking journey in 2003 after graduating from the New York Film Academy with his thesis short film BAR BARONS. BAR BARONS was seen throughout the U.S. on the festival circuit and later, on Canadian and French television. Gary delved into feature films with his 2005 project TAN MAN, which was shot in his home town of Winnipeg.
Another short followed in 2007 with SURPRISE. In 2008, Gary decided to try his hand in Hollywood and enrolled in UCLA’S extension producing certificate program. As the first wave of content creators was emerging online, Gary created a popular web series called SAVING RENT, which garnered millions of web views. After UCLA, Gary began his Hollywood career as an assistant for director and producer Mars Callahan, where he learned the nuts and bolts of the industry. Gary directed another short in 2010 called HALFWAY WHERE? A big fan of mixed martial arts (MMA), Gary in 2013 created a 30-minute episodic panel discussion show called MMA ON DRAFT for a digital channel called FirstRun TV. In 2016, Gary dove into the music video realm with JUSTICE, an animation music video for rapper Babii Cris. During the pandemic, Gary wrote, directed and produced LAUNDRO-MATT, a short thriller distributed by SHORTS TV, and another comedic award-winning short called YOU LIKE ORGANIC?
Gary divides his time between Los Angeles, New York and Toronto.
